One year ago today...
On this date one year ago, Bill Whittle posted "Tribes." In my memory, at least, it was the most inspiring blog post -- or essay of any sort -- that I read last year.

It's weird to see something put into words that you've always known instinctively. I hate, F'ing hate, swathes of the 'pinks' he refers to. The people who chant slogans against us, who lie about us, give succor and sympathy to our enemies, who curse us and our uniforms and all that we represent and fight for.
We who have volunteered to die in their place.
God damned hateful ignorant bastard sheep... part of me wants to see them be on the receiving end of an IED, to see someone from their neighborhood beheaded on the Internet, to be wrongfully accused of crimes by political opponents of their boss, to be slandered... and unappreciated.

I'm gonna go drink some liquor and smoke... it's ok, I'm on leave.

Agreed, but he's slacking now, thats' ok, but I wish he would post the second chapter of Web of Trust.
His last line of the first chapter is golden:
"Civilizations fall because people bitch and complain when the electricity is off for fifteen minutes, and never give a thought to the fact that it has been on for their entire lives."
Papa Ray
Right on.
I live surrounded by sheep and hippies, whining about "why can't we just kiss each other's privates and get along?", not realizing that they live in a protected bubble, prosperous beyond believe by the world's standard. They ate three squares today of organic food. They swathed themselves in organic cotton, and politically correct speech. They masterbated one another with their thinking about how correct and righteous they are. And they did it in the protected bubble maintained by people they hate. Our government, our military, our will.
F Islam and the "religion of Peace". That's a bunch of horse manure. Until I see their Mullahs and leadership condemning Al Qaeda, the taliban and the actions of this "minority" of zealots, I have to believe Bush is right. There's a global war, and we fight it, or we die.

I missed that one last year. Thanks, TH, for bringing it to my attention. Inspiring indeed.
