On bunions and Manolos

Blogging on my Blackberry from the back of a lecture hall, watching a podiatric surgeon teach a room full of sales reps about foot and ankle surgery:
Surgeon: "Women get bunions disproportionately because of fashionable shoes - Manolos aren't made for feet, they're made for mannequins."

Female sales rep in front row (shouting): "Blasphemy!"

Heh.

You know, I have never owned a pair of The Manolos... I suppose I may have to remedy that.

Women's shoes are total torture devices, though. We love looking sexy but... OUCH! The pain!

I adore high heels but I refuse to wear those hideous pointy toed shoes you see nowadays. I don't know what I'll do when the current fad for round-toe shoes goes out of style. Right now I'm happy because Steve Madden makes comfortable shoes that are pretty are affordable too. But I really despise the pointy-toed look and always have.

There are limits.

... AND affordable!

I am so tired.
