The question remains - Is the President bound by the Rule of Law (that thing we're fighting for along with shinyhappyfreedom)? If so, then he's out of bounds. If not, then what is this strange country we live in? What else is he allowed to do? Where does the right draw the line?

Also, the Bush administration is the least transparent of any in recent history. They don't want their citizens to know what they're up to (energy meetings, Plame affair, Safavian, Abramoff, etc.), but they're gung ho to spy on everyone else.

And none of that "we're only spying on A.Q." nonsense. The Quakers tell a different story.

Security? Yes! Rule of Law? Yes!

What, we can't have both?
