Defending the West
Who would have thought that a couple of Danes would render into stark relief the differences between the pluralistic West and the Islamic world?
While these differences have long been obvious to some
, received wisdom in the West has clung to the hope that the Muslim world would leave us alone if only Western foreign policy was less intrusive. Well, a couple of Danish political artists have unwittingly shown us how silly we have been to think that the Rushdie fatwa was some sort of aberration. As I wrote earlier today, it isn't as though we haven't been warned.
