Defending the West

Who would have thought that a couple of Danes would render into stark relief the differences between the pluralistic West and the Islamic world?

While these differences have long been obvious to some, received wisdom in the West has clung to the hope that the Muslim world would leave us alone if only Western foreign policy was less intrusive. Well, a couple of Danish political artists have unwittingly shown us how silly we have been to think that the Rushdie fatwa was some sort of aberration. As I wrote earlier today, it isn't as though we haven't been warned.

Michelle Malkin has a link to a stark video that invites us to see a terrifying pattern in the Muslim world's response to Westerners expressing their own opinions inside their own countries. Watch it, and read more coverage at Instapundit and Gateway Pundit (regarding the torching of Denmark's embassy in Damascus).

UPDATE: Want to help fight the fight? Nullify the Muslim world's boycott of Danish products. Michelle Malkin has a long list of Danish products that you might pick up on your next run to the grocery store. Me, I'm serving Carlsberg tomorrow afternoon.
