The cartoon intifada expands

How did I miss this story? The cartoon intifada has gone secular.

Iran is flipping out over a German cartoon that has nothing to do with Mohammed. It seems that the Iranians, who have been braggin' on their suicide bomber recruitment numbers, take great umbrage when somebody points out that they've been, er, recruiting suicide bombers.

Gateway Pundit has all the links you'll ever need.

Hawk,

The Poor Man just called you out.

The flame war seems to be on.

He actually "called me out" quite a few hours ago. It's been raining lefties around here all afternoon and evening.

I don't flame other bloggers, so if that is what he's after he will be disappointed. I may, however, try my hand at a reply.

I was hoping you'd say that.

On October 30, 2005, Headquarters for Commemoration of Martyrs of Global Islamic Movement plans to hold a ceremony in Tehran to honor volunteers for suicide bombing operations where government officials are going to attend, according to official Mehr news agency. Last year this event was held on a government property in Tehran where Brig. Gen. Salami, a confidant of Ahmadinejad and the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Joint Chiefs of Staff Director of Operations, was the keynote speaker discussing "Suicide operations: A security and military strategy perspective."

Much more at "Commemoration of Martyrs of Global Islamic Movement" - Google Search. There appears to be no real separation between Iranian officialdom and this "shadowy" group.

Unless Germany is not part the Global Arrogance (the US and its allies) then the cartoon fits. Big time.

Thanks, John, for bolstering my rather flimsy link. Some blog posts are, er, meatier than others.
