You identified the best clue in that direction when we heard that he had his little NIMBY eruption over the new county road. Nobody but nobody goes to a planning commission meeting if they are planning to leave town for a zillion dollars. But huge news. Huge.

I think he thinks he can bring the first national championship to Iowa, and wants to do that. If he pulls that off, the NFL will always be there.

A ronin1516, I was in Ann Arbor 83-86. Long before your time, grasshopper.

You ask a good question. I grew up in Iowa City (as did the 'Villain), and our father was chairman of the History Department there. We were Hawkeye fans from sentience. When I got to Michigan Law School, I wondered whether my allegiance would shift, and I indeed bought season tickets my three years there and went to all the home football games. I always root for the Wolverines against other opponents, but when Iowa came to Ann Arbor that fall I realized that I could never pull for the Maize and Blue against my Hawks. Sorry. Can't break those childhood bonds.

Also, law school does not build the old school ties the way college does. I enjoyed Ann Arbor immensely and have a great deal of respect for the Michigan Law School, but I never really fell in love with Michigan sports.
