The Stones can still bring it
And what a show! If you're still touring in your mid-sixties, as the Stones are, you'd better go pretty light on new material and stick to the classics, and they did not disappoint in this regard. Their playlist for the night included the following (not necessarily in this order):
Honkey Tonk Woman
Jumping Jack Flash
Ruby Tuesday
Get off of my Cloud
Sympathy for the Devil
Midnight Rambler
Brown Sugar
Paint it Black
Shattered
They even added a special song for this date, dipping into Exile on Main Street to bring forth Sweet Virginia, a nice touch. For the encore, they came out with You Can't Always Get What You Want, and ended with Satisfaction. The new material they played didn't make much of an impression on me; I listened carefully but never heard the words "sweet neocon," which was a relief.
I'd never seen the Stones live, and probably never will again, so I'm glad I made this one. They remain a great rock and roll band.

So Mick didn't bust a colostomy bag on stage? Keith Richards didn't set his oxygen take on fire with his cigarettes? Those guys do rock! Geritol shots for everyone! Sorry, couldn't resist.

Actually, Keith Richards looked very close to death, truth be told, and possibly on the wrong side of it. Mick, however, is a machine, a freak of nature.
