Say it ain't so

'Egypt discovers tunnel under Gaza border'

So let me get this straight: the Egyptians only discovered this tunnel the day after Israel withdraws? Let's be honest -- Egypt has been allowing the infiltration of weapons and probably terrorists into Gaza, which in any other part of the world would be an act of war.

Meanwhile, the Associated Press continues to use, shall we say, unique language in its coverage of the chaos on the Gaza strip:
Late Tuesday, the Palestinian Authority warned that normal immigration controls would be imposed on Wednesday evening.

The crossing to Egypt is Gaza's only land link to the outside world that does not pass through Israel.

The "outside world"? Well, Israel's only "land links" to the "outside world" pass through Arab countries where most of the people support Israel's destruction, but you never see it expressed that way. Hey, for that matter, Denmark doesn't have a land link to the "outside world" that doesn't pass through Germany, which has to be very annoying, and the Norwegians are completely pinned against Sweden, with no "land links" to the world "outside" Norway uninfiltrated by Swedes. The UK, of course, has only the Chunnel, and that is barely a "land link" and it is to France (which, thankfully, has multiple "land links"). Of course, South Korea's only "land link" is through North Korea, which must really suck. And Maine's only way out is through New Hampshire. You have to learn to live with your neighbors in the world, and the time has long passed for Palestinian Arabs to accept the continued existence of theirs.
