UPDATE: More Christos.
I took these photos from Sugarloaf, a huge outcropping of rock in Rio's harbor. You get there on a cable car. Here's Sugarloaf from a distance, followed by various pictures of Rio's harbor:
Not a bad way to spend a Sunday afternoon in early June.

Vicariously vacationing with you, Hawk, and it's beautiful here. Thanks for posting the pics.

Hey, Screwy, being a conservative, I was working. [:)] I spent that Sunday afternoon with our distributor's sales manager -- we were talking about the condition of neurosurgery in Brazil while I was taking these pictures. I admit, though, that it was not the toughest duty I've had.

They are beautiful pictures, T.
The Christ figure would never float on clouds here, though. The ACLU would have that baby down so fast it would remind you of the toppling of Saddam...
...it makes me wish we *did* have something similar, just to watch the ACLU go into warp mode trying to get it removed.
Sooo...what is the condition of neurosurgery in Brazil??

There are some outstanding neurosurgeons in Brazil. The trouble is that the public hospital system cannot afford a lot of the tools they need to practice their craft at the top. The private hospitals have more money, but not as much as in wealthier countries. Bottom line is that you can get excellent treatment in Brazil, but only if you have money and can access the best people. Otherwise, it is catch as catch can.
