Ann Coulter makes the cover of Time

Fans have noticed that the cover photo is not exactly flattering ("the most freaky photo of Ann Coulter"):

Michelle Malkin, who certainly should concern herself with the press's treatment of attractive conservative women, writes that it is all part of a pattern. INDC Journal thinks that the decision was more artistic than political, and in any case beseeches us to "conserve our ammo." I agree. Besides, the main splash looks just fine:

Here's the link to a teaser for the main story (reg. required for the whole thing), which leads with claim that whether we "love her or hate her," we don't know the real Ann Coulter.

Most of us, anyway.

I knew Ann Coulter quite well during the year we overlapped at Michigan Law School, and have corresponded with her from time to time since then. I am not recently acquainted with Ann, but having known her "back in the day" I'm going to run out and buy a dead tree copy of the magazine and let you know what I think of Time's judgment in an update.
