Who are the war criminals?

Al-Jaz:
US President George Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair deserve life sentences, with the possibility of parole after 25 years, for the war crimes and genocide in Iraq, according to a lawyers' panel.

Speaking on Monday at the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan, Kohki Abe, a professor of law at Kanagawa University, said they should face the "maximum penalty available". That would not include the death penalty, however, as the members of the tribunal opposed capital punishment, he added.

I think it is time that we start indicting people for war crimes. Let's start with governments that supply our enemies with cash to buy weapons.

Regarding your last line: The funny or not so funny thing is, Berlusconi is, with the arguable exception of Blair, our best ally in Europe.

I know, Pile, I know, but there is no defense for paying ransom to al Qaeda. It is very disappointing that Berlusconi's government would do that. That's the sort of hideous stuff that Schroeder's Germany does.

Unilateralism is underrated I believe.

Unilateralism used to be respected. FDR messed it up for everybody. 'Course, he managed to get 60 Russians to die for every American KIA in the war against Germany, so allies can have their uses.
