Hot librarian sues Harvard
A Harvard University librarian claims in a lawsuit that she has been rejected repeatedly for promotion because she is black and is perceived as just a "pretty girl" whose attire was too "sexy."
Here's a picture of Desiree Goodwin. The "low cut blouses and tight pants" are not in evidence, but we'll take her word for it.
As an employer, I think that this law suit is asinine. However, since I believe that universities such as Harvard have tirelessly promoted the idea that everybody is a "victim" with a grievance that can be adjudicated, I also think that Goodwin's law suit is hilarious. Yes, it is both asinine and hilarious, like much else in the world.

On another side note, I don't find her all that hot, so of course her claims are baseless...
But that's a whole different can of worms there!

That's a question of fact for the jury!:)

Nevermind TigerHawk. FireWolf is the one who worries me. He must only date supermodels.

It should worry you Levi because I lead a celibate life :)
Scary thought eh?
But even if I didn't, she isn't that attractive to me, and thus, not worthy of the lawsuit.
But hey, that's my own personal opinion :)

My fiancee is a former law librarian and currently a manager at Lexis-nexis. She knows folks who know this lady, and (1) she is hot, (2) the whole librarian culture, especially up at Harvard, is very much Ellen Degeneres/hairy-legged/birkenstock/frumpy, (3) highly Caucasian. This chick is downright exotic when compared to this crew, trust me. And of course she is qualified to do the work. My fiancee's east coast co-teammember (for harsh firms such as Hale & Dorr...now merged w/Wilmer here in DC) knows this chick and she's has all the credentials and about 10years of experience at Boston Pub Lib, harvard-radcliffe and Tufts. She has an MLS and is no dummy. However, she does dress like a cross between J-Lo and Lil Kim (if any of you tightass white guys know of the latter ;-) ).
From what I know about most university's staff employment practices, someone telling someone that their non-advancement is due to looks is pretty common. Despite the stereotypes, particularly on the Right, universities are fairly unenlightened, drama-ridden, subjective/fifedom-oriented places, unless you're lucky enough to be in a union.
If I can weasel a photo, I'll try to get TH to post it, as yes, this girl is hot...
I dunno Jack. I discussed this with a friend of mine (also a hot librarian), and we decided that if our employer was repeatedly denying us promotions based on our looks, we'd go work somewhere else, because obviously, that employer would be an idiot. We don't suffer fools. Litigation is not the only solution to life's problems. If this young woman is as talented as she purports to be, in addition to being attractive, there are plenty of folks out there who'd love to have her on their staff!

To paraphrase the late Mr. Dangerfield, perhaps she could help me straighten out my Longfellow.
Or perhaps I can scream "Show your Keats!"

Tool: Very useful additional information. An exclusive photo would be much appreciated.
Nancy: Good point.
