The most petulant op-ed column ever
Maureen Dowd stamps her feet, screams at her readers, and slams the door on the way out. Her column this morning
is perhaps the most petulant, peevish, childish column I have read on those pages in quite some time. I'm just saying.
Where's the fake turkey mention? Haliburton? Obligatory frat boy sneer? Drug/drinking reference? Jeez, if she's going to melt down, she ought to get everything in there.
I used to try to fisk her, but it's like housework... a never-ending job.
You just want to hand her a vial of Black Cohosh or Mexican Yam and ask her to please, please seek professional help.
She appears not to know that the phrase checks and balances applies to the designated powers of government not to either partisan balance in government or the self-appointed (and relatively newly-found) role of the press as the second opposition.
I didn't think it was possible for any columnist to annoy me more than Eleanor Clift does. Alas, I was wrong.
