Mars attacks 

Let's face it, that's what will happen to people if they eat too many of these:

'Deep-fried Mars bar taking Scotland by storm' - headline, AFP.

This story calls out for a couple of comments.

First, it is axiomatic that anything worth eating is more worth eating if it is deep fried. Who among us, deep down, does not think this?

Second, you have to love the way that Agence-France is covering this story:
The deep-fried Mars bar, a nutritionist's nightmare that surfaced in Scotland about a decade ago, is now an established part of the Scottish culinary scene...


You just know that the reporter who wrote this thinks so little of the "Scottish culinary scene" that he thinks it is entirely reasonably to view a candy bar as part and parcel of it.
