Theresa in Mason City
The Tall Glass of Milk points to this story from the Mason City, Iowa Globe Gazette. The basic facts are well known -- Theresa Heinz Kerry went to the hospital in Mason City because she "didn't feel well." Treated and released, done. We at TigerHawk are pleased that THK is feeling better, and didn't have to be sent to Iowa City (home of the University of Iowa Hospitals, easily the best health care available between Chicago and Denver).
But I still have a question: Why did the Kerry campaign send Theresa to Mason City? Oh, sure, Iowa is a battleground state and is getting more than its share of general election attention from both campaigns, but that still isn't a good reason to send Theresa there. I'd send Edwards, maybe, or even his wife, but Theresa is not, shall we say, well-suited to campaigning for swing votes in the Hawkeye State.
