Up early, off to Orlando
I'm off to Orlando this morning, where I will be reunited with the family for two days of theme park adventures. With any luck at all, our accommodations will be a lot nicer than mine here in Miami Beach. Wish us luck!
UPDATE: We spent the day at Universal Studios, moving efficiently from one event to another. Universal Studios is a very manageable park, and fun if your children are too old for the Magic Kingdom but young enough that they can quote vast swaths of Nickelodeon dialogue.
Un-PC childrearing moment of the day: Our daughter asked to engage one of the park's artisans to braid cornrows into her hair. Mrs. TigerHawk asked Number One Son whether he also would like cornrows, since the TigerHawk family seems to have a strong policy promoting equality in such matters. Number One Son: "White guys with cornrows look stupid."
Wise, for a tween.
