While I don't disagree (being as I'm hispanic) that far too many brown (and black) people are targeted for minor drug and other offenses. Yes there should be more forgiveness for minor offenses. Our justice systems needs serious reform.
BUT....have you ever watched a few episodes of the show "The First 48". I am appalled at the number of black on black and brown on brown serious crimes committed for the most trivial reasons. Most of those crimes are murders and involve drugs and or alcohol. If you haven't seen that show just watch your local news on occasion.
I have seen the first 48. Don't be fooled into the propaganda. The majority of violent crimes- murder-rape-serial killer, aren't people of color. You have to understand that those shows focus solely on a small percentage of the population, giving you the illusion that it is the majority. I urge you to do some reason on forced confessions in regards to people of color. The majority of kids being locked are being forced to confess to crimes that they didn't commit. The prison industrial complex is the modern day slave ship. If people can't see that, well then help us all.
