Fire in the hole
The fire place in our family's Adirondack camp, just as it looks this afternoon while I plink away at work, blog, hector my children from afar, and drink beer. It is only 57 degrees outside this afternoon, and I am loving it.

, atHere in TX it is hard to imagine setting a fire right now. Though daily highs have dipped below 100 and we had one day where the high was around a bone chilling lower 80s. So, end of summer has come to TX also. Just that our perspective is different.

Ah, a Manly Room indeed. Note the mounted fish above the fireplace. Now I'm going to be humming "You need a Man Around Here" for the rest of the day.

Nice. It's been cool enough back here in the garden state to fire up the outside fireplace the past few nights.
Are those shelf/bracket fungi on the mantel?

gregor, they are indeed. All with drawings of one sort or another going back many years.
