Counting life's small blessings: Regarding Congressional majorities
Whether to judge Barack Obama's successes or failures or to remind the opposition that things can definitely get worse, it is useful to remember that the two previous transforming liberals, FDR and LBJ, enjoyed substantially larger majorities in both houses of Congress. Nice graphs at the link, and a reminder that the political majority was extremely anti-business in 1937-38.
