A walk in the woods
I went for a walk yesterday across the lake, over hill and dale, down a forest path, along the road, out the outlet, and back across the ice. You demanded pictures, so here they are!
Your blogger, in The Hat...
My great aunt Lucy used to operate a small hotel in this building, now a gathering place for people with camps on our lake.
Winter road...
The lake's outlet, just over the small dam that regulates the level...
Don't walk there...
Merry Christmas.

Nice shots! I like the hotel photo. Looks like a miniature Great Camp.
With all the snow still on the trees, I'm guessing it wasn't too windy.
Oh, nice Hat. No, really. Looks very warm.
While winter in the city is just a pain in the neck, there is a cold, calm, stark beauty to winter in the countryside. Stars at night, not visible in the city, add a special dimension to winter in the countryside. TH, can you get us some starlit night photos?
Those Adirondack houses without insulation beyond the outer logs and without central heating can be rather cold inside come wintertime. Definitely a time to stick around the fireplace, though better a wood stove with a long heating pipe. Less picturesque but more comfortable.

We are not so tough, Boludo -- central heating all around!
