How Barack Obama keeps the left at bay

Big lefty blogger Jane Hamsher has an interesting and widely-linked post about the means by which the Obama administration controls the left-wing interest groups. It is illuminating, even if not in the end surprising.

Jane Hamsher asserts that 30% of liberals in 2007 believed the essential truther position that "9/11 was an inside job". If so, Obama is now in a position to confirm or deny this, no?

The left should DEMAND the release of the paper trail that documents the Bush Administrations' staging of 9/11 attacks!

"Center for American Progress, Unity 09, and Common Purpose are just a few of the overt ways that the White House controls its left flank and maintains discipline."
............

Related to the previous thread, the organizational structure for activity by American Progress, Unity 09, and Common Purpose is that of a top down hierarchy as opposed to bottom up. They await direction and authority from the administration, which is a slower process when compared to a bottom up hierarchy for organizational structure.

Another fundamental problem for the Obama administration is that citizens have realized the treasury is being raided to fund his political advocates and constituents. From the article - "if you wanted to criticize the White House on financial issues, your institutional funding would dry up instantly"

A specific example (in addition to the stimulus bill - remember all those promised jobs?) is van jones and the billions he was allocated for the creation of "green jobs". The term has no meaning and therefore there cannot be metrics. It is /was nothing more than a conduit for wealth redistribution.

Can you imagine what the outcry would have been if the Bush WH did a small fraction of this stuff? My amazement at the hypocrisy of the left sounds naive, even though I try hard to be cynical and keep up with the latest in-the-know perfidy of lefties, but it just keeps amazing me.

It's not the simple hypocrisy that should floor you, but the cranium exploding levels of cognitive dissonance that should strike these people, but don't.

In regards to the OP, some enterprising, rebellious soul should take to recording this conference calls. Their release would advance both the discipline of political science and the public interest, I think.

Yeah, like the claim that Obama's longtime association with Marxists, his belief that the Constitution erroneously doesn't deal with or promote wealth redistribution, and his desire to remake America, do not make him a Marxist. You see these denials throughout the MSM.

I have friends who simply ignore everything about the man in order to deny he's a Marxist. I presume they do it to make themselves feel good about voting for him. It's infuriating.

Notice how the left always thinks these unfair power plays are being directed against them, even when it's other leftists. By such means do they justify power politics whenever they have even a bit of authority. Always rationalizing that they are only responding to the evils of the other guy.
