Ann on Sarah
Ann Coulter's column on Sarah Palin's candidacy is as amusing as it is lacerating in its indictment of the media, and contains some awfully good advice to boot.

, atAmusing column but it doesn't do much to explain the irrational hatred that the looney left has for Palin.

Sarah Palin is the polar opposite of Barack Obama, with similar relationships with the political fringe. Conservative pseudo-worship of Palin is matched only by liberal pseudo-worship of Obama. Although, liberal hatred of Palin is worse than conservative hatred of Obama these days. (1. his cabinet selections are infuriating liberals, ha ha, and 2. that's all that liberals seem to do these days is hate-hate-HATE, so they have a lot of practice)

We met Ann during a local political event a couple of years ago. She's really quite a charming person. It's remarkable the amount of blind rage she induces amongst liberal blog sites. I guess that comes with the territory when one suffers fools poorly...and there are SO MANY fools.

I understand why stupid scummy neocons (Bill Kristol) like Palin, and why smart scummy paleocons (Ann Coulter) like Palin, but not why smart non-scummy conservatives such as TH (and some commenters here) like her. This is coming from an Obama supporter who didn't view his inexperience as an advantage, btw.
I also can't tell if she's just not very bright or just has been profoundly uninterested in any information not of immediate use to her personally. If she runs in 2012, though, we'll know it's the former. The smart Republican candidates will wait until the Democrats are tired.

I admit, I like Palin, but I'm not sure she'd be a great president. Maybe some day. I do agree with your last point, though.
