Barack Obama's weekly address: Did I hear the word "malaise"?
No. Barack Obama did not use the word "malaise" on his first weekly YouTube address, but he did go on at length about the extent to which everything sucks, and that we are going to need a massive new government-run energy program, and that it will involve a lot of "sacrifice." Sorry to say, I have not heard a politician sound so much like Jimmy Carter since, well, 1980.

Of course we're not doomed. We survived Jimmy Carter, so we can survive anything.

Very true, but forget not that we "survived" Carter because of the man that filled his rather small shoes...Ronald Reagan.
I don't see any Reagans on the horizon..but I guess we can always hope for the best.
This is Carter on steroids, and lots more politically adept. I too think we're doomed. My daughter is in Chile and says it's a great place: mountains, beaches, unbelievable natural beauty, vineyards and, not to forget, a free economy.
