The economy in graphs
There are a lot of ways to look at the condition of the global economy. This post graphically illustrates how quickly we may be contracting. It is interesting, but you will need to take a Prozac shower after reading it.
Meanwhile, the stock market is up this morning, but we all know the real action happens in the last ten minutes. Check in around 3:45 this afternoon to see where things stand.

Looks pretty good to me.
Up more than 10% on the day?
And racing for the roof at the end on huge volume?
Looks very, very nice to me. Glad I resisted the urge to sell at the bottom.
The graphs are interesting in that this somewhat dismisses the conventional wisdom that this is all about "sub -prime lending" and "Wall Street greed".
Yes, those factors are all in play, but the real story is that the world-wide economy was/is slowing considerably.
Due to high oil prices? Who would we blame for that one????
Any other factors in play that could simultaneously slow down the entire world economy?

The graphs are nice, I suppose, but Hoofy&Boo's News & Views are worth the price. Where have they been hiding?
