Rejoice, for He has come

Heh

From there he went forth to Mesopotamia where he was received by the great ruler al-Maliki, and al-Maliki spake unto him and blessed his Sixteen Month Troop Withdrawal Plan even as the imperial warrior Petraeus tried to destroy it.

And lo, in Mesopotamia, a miracle occurred. Even though the Great Surge of Armour that the evil Bush had ordered had been a terrible mistake, a waste of vital military resources and doomed to end in disaster, the Child's very presence suddenly brought forth a great victory for the forces of the light.

And the Persians, who saw all this and were greatly fearful, longed to speak with the Child and saw that the Child was the bringer of peace. At the mention of his name they quickly laid aside their intrigues and beat their uranium swords into civil nuclear energy ploughshares.

From there the Child went up to the city of Jerusalem, and entered through the gate seated on an ass. The crowds of network anchors who had followed him from afar cheered “Hosanna” and waved great palm fronds and strewed them at his feet.

In Jerusalem and in surrounding Palestine, the Child spake to the Hebrews and the Arabs, as the Scripture had foretold. And in an instant, the lion lay down with the lamb, and the Israelites and Ishmaelites ended their long enmity and lived for ever after in peace.

As word spread throughout the land about the Child's wondrous works, peoples from all over flocked to hear him; Hittites and Abbasids; Obamacons and McCainiacs; Cameroonians and Blairites.

And they told of strange and wondrous things that greeted the news of the Child's journey. Around the world, global temperatures began to decline, and the ocean levels fell and the great warming was over.

Okay, I get it, you don't dig Obama's positive speech and what it means for your candidate Mickey, right?

The difference betwixt people for Obama and people for Mickey couldn’t be more contradictory. Of course, the Obama people are setting their hopes on the future and undoing the damage done in the last 8 years. But it seems the Mickey people are metaphorically lying in the bottom of a row boat in the middle of the night, floating on a still as all get-out lake, far, far, away from civilization or the possibility of reason, more than likely sequestered in some bizzaro Amish country (no electricity) being pulled hither and yon by mysterious lake currents (GOP stooges), considering it all too complex to understand, wondering when the person laying next to you (Mickey) in the aforementioned row boat is going to work up a smidgeon of pluck and intelligence, and breach the subject of how he’s going to make these imaginary solutions work, and thank-you-very-much for all your monetary largesse (suckers!) but I don’t need you now to make those “America is going down the shitter blues” go away, and if you elect him you get four more years of this himming and hawing republican bullshit, from people so backwards and yet more jaded than any Silver Lake pinhead could ever be.

Face it: your atypical conservative (one that can count higher than ten) feels alienated just like the main character in Albert Camus’s “The Stranger”, and oddly enough, indifferent, like you knew it was going to happen, something like this. You knew it when you saw Mickey eight years ago, you could pick right up on his vibe and like Poker, he has a tell, a “life is shit” facial body language, yet here you are laying on the bottom of a row boat gently swaying to whatever forces are active in a lake of horseshit out in bumfuck bizzaro Amish country, hundreds of miles from anything even remotely related to “civilization” and the stars are brighter than they would ever have the right to be, and you weren’t as aware of it all as you are now and you certainly haven’t got into that Zen groove thang yet (That would be about 12 years later), and you ask yourself, “Is this what Satori is all about?”, and that feeling of superb nothingness, that peculiar state you’re in when your mind stops asking/demanding questions and simply shuts down.

Okay, you’re bummed about Obama’s speech yesterday, right? Here’s a little soliloquy for you to reflect on when you wake up:

we shadows have offended,
Think but this,--and all is mended,--
That you have but slumber'd here
While these visions did appear.
And this weak and idle theme,
No more yielding but a dream,
Gentles, do not reprehend;
If you pardon, we will mend.
And, as I am an honest Puck,
If we have unearned luck
Now to 'scape the serpent's tongue,
We will make amends ere long;
Else the Puck a liar call:
So, good night unto you all.
Give me your hands, if we be friends,
And Robin shall restore amends.

Obama skipped meeting with the wounded soldiers because he couldn't use it in his campaign. He is definitly Obama, the Greater of Two Evils.

Carl Gordon? I am so very impressed that Carl might have read the glossary of the Cliff Notes re: Mid-Summer Night's Dream-read Carl's trope carefully , as it illuminates the myopic narcissism of the Obamacons' "serious" committment to Barry's quest.These are folks who will be inveighing , soon , that Communism was really , really a good idea - only, it wasn't executed properly...nice wrapping Carl- putrid content... still shopping in the NYTimes Book Review to illustrate your "gravitas"? Phony fool-24 ct. groupthinker.

"bummed about Obama's speech"

You mean the intellectual trainwreck speech? The one about global citizenship, global socialism? Blame America, for saving Eurasia back when it was just Europe?

Won't happen in Texas.
