"Grim milestone" alert: July's first OIF KIA
Yesterday, the first American since June 26 died from hostile action in Iraq, completing the longest such stretch since twelve days in May, 2003 (during which time 18 soldiers died from non-hostile causes, compared to one in the period since June 26, 2008).
If the bad guys do not resume killing Americans, people are going to think they have lost. And if they have lost, does that mean that we have, er, not lost?
