The antidote for Gore: Another scientist changes his mind about AGW

If you forced yourself to read Al Gore's speech about the catastrophe that awaits us if we do not generate all our electricity from sources other than fossil fuels within the next ten years, then you might want to drink the antidote before you go completely insane:

I DEVOTED six years to carbon accounting, building models for the Australian Greenhouse Office. I am the rocket scientist who wrote the carbon accounting model (FullCAM) that measures Australia's compliance with the Kyoto Protocol, in the land use change and forestry sector.

FullCAM models carbon flows in plants, mulch, debris, soils and agricultural products, using inputs such as climate data, plant physiology and satellite data. I've been following the global warming debate closely for years.

When I started that job in 1999 the evidence that carbon emissions caused global warming seemed pretty good: CO2 is a greenhouse gas, the old ice core data, no other suspects.

But now he has changed his mind. Read the whole thing.

MORE (via Glenn Reynolds): John Tierney has three questions for Al Gore. The first (why does Gore keep citing "junk science"?) is easy to answer, as is another Tierney did not ask but Glenn Reynolds does: Why does Gore keep hurting his cause by transporting himself to public events on private jets and in fleets of SUVs? He believes that most people will not notice -- sadly true, insofar as the regular readers of righty American blogs probably do not exceed 1% of even the U.S. population -- and that the people who do notice are either (i) his enemies regardless or (ii) will forgive him because of his self-evident and universally accepted personal nobility.

I just hope someone has been keeping track of who was on which side so that 20 years from now we can laugh at the right people.

it is the reglion of power, fame, and money. If it wasn't this Gore and others like him would have latched onto something else....like global cooling!

Gore's daughter Karina married into the Zionist Jacob Schiff family. That's really all you need to know. Research Jacob Schiff and his activity regarding Wall Street and WWII ...

Al Gore(TM) has invested a considerable amount of personal and professional capital into the AGW models that he NEEDS to have the Gov't/Market make wholesale investments into his supported industries so that he can reap the financial and social benefits so that he can pass on his "legacy" to his kids, because he bought in low and he needs to sell High.

This will make us all poorer and his offspring richer.

Whaaa???

Okay, this tells us what about Al Gore?

The Zionists are behind the AGW movement?

I know, don't feed them.....

You are dead wrong. Unfortunately. *THEY* are laughing at us, the gullible, regardless that many of us saw this as a huge scam.

Why I am saying this? This is an excerpt from the main linked article:

> The world has spent $50 billion
> on global warming since 1990.

Yes, and that $50b came out of our pocket and got transferred into theirs. This is why they are laughing their way to the bank.

Vilmos

PS. I wish you were right.

Some scepticism towards the sceptic might be in order here. First, have a look at a rebuttal of his arguments here:

Second, consider the background and expertise of David Evans, explained here: http://tiny.cc/kPegB

He appears to have a background mainly in electrical engineering and maths, and his involvement in the Australian Greenhouse Office was to do with software relating to farming, forests and CO2. Does this make him an expert in atmospheric physics and modelling?

Thirdly, regardless of what exactly is happening with global temperatures at the moment, go and read the lengthy article in Discover magazine about ocean acidification: http://tiny.cc/PkPnl

You could also read this article that I wrote a couple of weeks ago, (completely without knowledge of the forthcoming Discover article, I hasten to add.) http://tiny.cc/C7qu6

The point is, the fate of the oceans alone is enough reason to get seriously behind dramatic reduction in CO2. The message is just a long time to get through to people.
