"Game over"
Regular TigerHawk troll commenter Christopher Chambers found himself quoted in the WaPo this morning: "Game over."
We only wish we had that much MSM stroke!

Wow - I guess he could have thrown that in the comments sections of my last question, huh?

Put together a business deal to acquire the Washington Post. Afterward, you can put your name in the paper every day.
No way is it over.
Obama will still get the nomination (barring another "Holy s**" moment); and given the lay of the land, I'd be somewhat surprised - not shocked but surprised - if he didn't win.
Though my guess is that the Americans who will decide the election right now (that 5-7%) couldn't tell you which is the Republican candidate and which is the Democrat.

I agree with Anonymous. Clinton can't catch Obama, notwithstanding that Obama may merely limp over the finish line to the nomination. In the fall, it's anybody's guess. That's forever away in political terms.

Yes, I agree with Anon 6:24 and Scurvy, it's not over for Obama.
Christopher - you sound like me after the Sixers lost game 5 last night to Detroit, going down 3-2 in the series. (Hopefully the Flyers do better tonight in game 4 against Montreal).
Congratulations on the quote and the high profile, Christopher, and man up, your candidate is still in the game. It's also good to know from the WaPo piece that not everyone in the audience at the NPC was acting as Rev. Wright's "choir."

Escort81 - "Man up"?!? Better be careful. I use that phrase and Chris accused me of using "black" language.
Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Re: "...accused me of using 'black' language."
Really? I couldn't find "man up" in my English-Swahili dictionary. It must be from one of the other 2,000 African languages.
Several of Wright's supporters spoke up for him at the university event. Cheryl Sanders, a professor of Christian ethics at the school, said that it would be wrong for him to remain silent in the face of what she called American oppression. "The role of the minister is to represent the will of God to the people," she said. "The priestly minister is accountable to God and to the people. The politicians do not have that same realm of responsibility."
Chris can keep the kind of stroke that comes with being quoted in that article.
And I never learned Sanders' narrow-minded brand of Christian ethics either, thank God.

More on "...accused me of using 'black' language."
The next time you see CC, TH, ask him to stop using "white" language. It would be fun to watch him order a pizza.
By Escort81, at Wed Apr 30, 09:52:00 PM:
Well, of course whites have been borrowing heavily from / ripping off black culture -- music and language -- for many decades, but I am guessing that the origin of the term is military and not AA (although it could be both, I honestly don't know). I might just have to write to William Safire at his NYT Magazine column and see if he knows the derivation of that phrase.
And the Flyers win, 4-2!
By D.E. Cloutier, at Wed Apr 30, 10:28:00 PM:
I don't remember it from the military, Escort81. But that's just one person's experience during the Vietnam War. However, on many occasions we had to tell some soldier to get his head out of his ass.

I can use "black" language because....
I have lots of black friends!
the guy is a professor?! his comments seem on the level of a jr high schooler. then again, the entire educational apparatus is a patornage system, so his lack of critical thinking isn't a disqualifier for a job there.

I believe "cowboy up" gets you there, too, if you are looking for alternate slang that is appropriate to your lifestyle.

Interesting question CC: Did the Post actually call you up before running the quote, to make sure the person claiming to be you, saying that quote, was actually in fact you, instead of a fake? Just wondering if the Post is checking its sources, or running whatever it sees on blogs as the gospel truth.
Grats on the quote by the way. Very nice.
