Wishful thinking?
I'm sure the New York Times has a perfectly reasonable explanation for this error. (Link fixed now)

I no longer believe that the NYT's mistakes are mistakes. No one can be *that* incompetent, *that* much of the time. Even the freakin' Iraqi Army had smooth days.

Don't buy the New York Times. Simply put, that's the only way their cynical manipulations of the news will stop.
