The Santa Claus rally
The stock market has been on a huge tear the last couple of days. As of the moment of this blog post, every single one of the 32 stocks I follow on my Yahoo! screen are showing green. That doesn't happen very often.

I only check long term returns on my 401K, to save me ulcers. But the returns for this year look pretty good too. I only hope the Dems will be unable to affect the economy for the next two years. (Veto! Veto!)
, atEvery single one "is" showing green, not "are" showing green.

Anonymous,
Verily, you is correct.
Not too surprising- the ingredients are there. Liquidity abounds (see 2006 performance of the ¥, global official reserve and b/d balance sheet growth, etc.) and the market has a story- namely, that it's less unattractive then the real estate, commodity and bond markets. When deteriorating profit growth and increasing inflationary pressures barely slow down the market's upward momentum, you know it's time to rebalance (and vis versa).
