Help New Orleans
I am very late to the party on this on account of only have just returned to civilization, but if you are the last person in the world trying to figure out how to help New Orleans, go to Instapundit and select one of the many charities (links included) nominated by many, many bloggers. It is wonderful that Glenn Reynolds has deployed his huge megaphone to the benefit of the Big Easy and its struggling citizenry. Don't let them down.

It isn't just New Orleans either. There are hundreds of communities affected up and down the Gulf Coast. Some frankly don't even exist anymore - wiped off the map by the huge storm surge.
The relief efforts are going to help those folks too, even though they're not getting the media face time that NOLA is.

A very good point. Think of New Orleans as a metaphor.
