Kofi Annan explains what's wrong with the UN
"I think it is all right for one ambassador to come and push, but an ambassador always has to remember that there are 190 others who will have to be convinced, or a vast majority of them, for action to take place," Annan said.
Precisely. I just didn't expect the Secretary General to explain so clearly why the United Nations is structurally ineffective, whatever its other attributes.

He doesn't have to convince anyone since the UN doesn't do anything. I think Kofi has delusions of grandeur.
What Bolton can do is to shame the UN by using the platform as a bully pulpit. Remember Pat Moynihan in the 70s? In any case, Bolton can start with the hate-America rhetoric that is far from being innocuous. I’d go so far as the accuse Kofi for creating the hate climate: here.
