Columbia's faculty votes to ban ROTC

This is a question over which I am as black and white as they come. Even if you do not like the military as a matter of temperament or ideology, as a professor at Columbia would you not at least want an opportunity to influence the moral and educational development of officer candidates? Are not the anti-miliitary leftists abdicating their self-proclaimed responsibility to change the world?
