Walid Jumblatt is abroad

Walid Jumblatt, informal leader of the Lebanese opposition, is on a trip that will take him to Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Russia. Al-Jaz:
Jumblatt, a MP who had remained at his mountain home for security reasons since the 14 February assassination of ex-premier Rafiq al-Hariri, was expected to hold talks on Saturday with officials during his tour, they said.

Jumblatt has never much liked the United States. He may prefer that the Saudis and the Russians take the lead in the removal of Syria from Lebanon. Indeed, their own rush to join the bandwagon, if you will, was to preserve their ability to influence the outcome in Lebanon. Had they not denounced Syria, they would have been sitting on the sidelines. Is Jumblatt talking to the Saudis and the Russians because he fears the growth of American influence in Lebanon?
