Life is cheap in Casablanca Lahore
Islamabad, Feb 7 : At least 19 people, including eight children, lost their lives and more than 500 were injured while celebrating the kite flying festival known as Basant in Pakistan's Lahore city, reports Xinhua.
Seven people were crushed to death while trying to catch stray kite and six others died after falling from rooftop of their houses.
Two teenage boys flying kites died after being hit by stray bullets in two different incidents while a seven-year-old boy was electrocuted and a four year-old girl killed when a stray string slit open her throat.
Pakistan's kite flying festival must be quite something. Last year twenty people died.
