How to get some attention in the ER
went to the ER with some chest pains, and didn't get very good service. She has some thoughts on how to get the attention of a hospital staff during a Christmas party:
Heh.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Venemous Kate
No matter how sluggish, hospital personnel snap to attention when patients start unplugging themselves from machines. I was undoing the final lead affixed to my chest when one of the nurses set down her cookie and, hollering for the doctor, hurried to my bedside. I’m not sure which surprised her more: how I took the initiative to unhook myself, or how I had the gall to point out that doing so didn’t involve rocket science. Either way, she’d turned a nice shade of purple by the time the doctor emerged from the lounge. Within minutes, I was scheduled for blood tests, a urine sample, a “GI cocktail” and x-rays of my abdomen and chest. Now, that was more like it.
Heh.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
