Cartographic semiotics

Middle East Strategy at Harvard rounds up the many different maps that the world's media used to illustrate the potential range of Iran's missiles. Curious business, the making of maps.

The making f maps certainly is a curious business. I used to work at a global company that had a global map on one of our hallway walls. One day I noticed that someone had wiped Israel off the map. Even is Southern California the extremists try to promote their get their message of hate.

It is interesting that none of the maps highlight the NATO countries as an attack on any of them will involve the United States. You would think that would be "newsworthy", even to the socialists.
