"Facebook is a door to lust"

So says a Saudi cleric after a father murdered his daughter for chatting with a man via Facebook. Like that's a reason to beat and then shoot your child. What sort of crazed lunatic thinks this way?

Westerners -- including, frankly, me -- are desperate to believe that this sort of thinking is not the beating heart of Islam, but highly aberrant behavior that is unfairly emphasized in the sensationalist press. It is not, however, reassuring that these stories tend to come from the tightly controlled police state at the geographical and spiritual center of the religion.

I'm beginning to think Magdi Allam is right: Islam cannot be moderated - it is inherently violent.

There is a very easy fix to these reports of "honor killings!" When enough notice has been recorded, the Muslim watchdogs will inform the media of their displeasure and the extremist left wing media, e.g., AP, AFP, Reuters, NYT and ABCCBSNBCCNN will simply stop reporting about these events.
Conceptually, it will be a lot like withholding party affiliation from reports of wrongdoing by you know whos and not printing any story where a gun has been responsibly used to prevent a crime.

I highly recommend visits to MEMRI, the Middle East Research Institute, to find out what Arabs are saying among themselves, as opposed to the message they want Western media to hear.Here are citations of Saudi clerics referring to Jews as apes and pigs.

I watched that 15 minute film by Dutch lawmaker Geert Wilders, who has been denounced as a racist, yada yada. The fact is, Muslim do not live a "religion of peace". When you see a three year old cite the Jews as pigs and apes, you can't imagine how these animals can coexist with non-Muslims.
