It is time to fly the Union Jack

Islamists are now claiming that the Union Jack, which contains a red cross, is offensive because it is Crusader imagery. According to the linked article, fearful companies have now banned its display.

Following warnings by extremist Islamic group al-Muhajiroun, in which the group said that the red cross in the England flag symbolizes the 'blood thirsty crusaders' and the occupation of Muslims, some of the largest companies in England have ordered their workers not to wave the flags.

The flag has recently appeared in England on everything from bikinis to cars, and sold in endless versions in stores.

But the Islamic protest forced some corporations, such as cable companies NTL, Heathrow airport in London, and even the Drivers and Vehicles Licensing Agency to ban the flag in every form due to fears from reactions of Muslims.

I believe that there is only one truly poetic response to the jihadi demand that we stop flying the Union Jack:

Is it just too rude to point out that the Crusades were a response to two Islamic invasions of then Christian Europe? (All the way to Spain.)
After the second invasion, the defenders did, in fact, push back beyond the original borders into Islamic land and that is the Bloody Crusader Invasion.
By their logic, crossing into Germany at the end of WWII was an aggression.

I think the article you cite is referring to the flag of England, known as the Cross of St. George. The Union Jack is the flag of the entire UK.

The flag of England features a red cross on a white field, and can be seen here.

Either way, though, it's outrageous that England would stop displaying it out of fear of Muslim reprisals.

Good spot, Gaijin Biker, although the Cross of St. George is also quite plainly integral to the Union Jack. Perhaps the Islamists have just not figured that out yet.

Also, it is much harder to find bikini models wearing only the Cross of St. George.

One more try:

Once again, TH is second to no man in his steadfast determination to resist Islamofascism.

A large pork enema to all Muslims who bitch and moan about Crusaders and the Crusades. If their knowledge of history is so poor, then screw 'em!

Who cares a fig if they feel offended? They offend me each time they make their idiotic pronouncements.

Stupidity is what they back, and stupidity is what the big corporations are reaping with their decisions to "not offend" Muslims by not flying a national flag. They need to get some balls and tell the Islamotwits, "Bugger off!"

When did Great Britain and the British become "Nancy Boys", anyway?

Even since Labour has been the ruling party, I reckon. The only reason Tony Blair hasn't been removed from office is because the *opposition* Conservatives voted to keep him in.

Ordering employees to not fly your national flag out of FEAR from terrorists is... very nearly the most contemptible thing I can imagine. I have very strong words that I wish I could share with such weak, spineless, worthless... grr.

Gee, do you think they've had a good look at the daggers and swords on the flag of Oman? http://www.flags.net/OMAN.htm

Who are those for?

I am so very much appauled by what some Brits are doing to appease these Muslim Twats.

Also, I hear that school children in the UK are not being taught about the holocost, apparently not all muslims agree with the history of it. If this is true, in whole or in part, could someone from the UK confirm?
